Bubble Text Generator – Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ Letters to Copy

A bubble text generator turns normal letters into circled Unicode characters such as Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ, black bubbles such as 🅑🅤🅑🅑🅛🅔 and squared letters, which you can copy and paste into an Instagram bio, a Discord message or a WhatsApp status. Type below and tap Copy; it all runs in your browser.

How to use the bubble text generator

  1. Type or paste your text into the box at the top.
  2. Look at the four previews: white bubbles, black bubbles, squares and black squares.
  3. Tap Copy next to the one you like and paste it anywhere that accepts text.

Bubble letters are one of several Unicode letter sets; for tiny raised letters, the small text generator works the same way and pairs well with bubbles in a bio.

White bubble letters vs black bubble letters

White bubble letters (Ⓐ to ⓩ) are a complete set of capitals and lowercase from Unicode 1.1, while black bubble letters (🅐 to 🅩) are capitals only and arrived in Unicode 6.0 in 2010. That difference decides how your text looks: white bubbles keep upper and lower case, black bubbles turn everything into capitals.

White circled bubble letters U+24B6 compared with black negative circled letters U+1F150 and squared letters
White circled letters date from Unicode 1.1; black and squared letters from Unicode 6.0.
Style Example Unicode block Code points Cases
White bubble (circled) Ⓐ ⓐ Enclosed Alphanumerics Ⓐ U+24B6 – Ⓩ U+24CF, ⓐ U+24D0 – ⓩ U+24E9 Upper and lower
Black bubble (negative circled) 🅐 Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement 🅐 U+1F150 – 🅩 U+1F169 Capitals only
Squared 🄰 Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement 🄰 U+1F130 – 🅉 U+1F149 Capitals only
Black squared (negative squared) 🅰 Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement 🅰 U+1F170 – 🆉 U+1F189 Capitals only

Each bubble letter is a defined character with its own name, for example U+24B7 is CIRCLED LATIN CAPITAL LETTER B. It is not a normal B with a circle drawn around it, which is why it survives copy and paste.

Bubble numbers ① to ⑳ and ⓿

White circled numbers run from ① CIRCLED DIGIT ONE (U+2460) up to ⑳ CIRCLED NUMBER TWENTY (U+2473), with ⓪ CIRCLED DIGIT ZERO at U+24EA. Black numbers come from two places: ❶ to ❾ are DINGBAT NEGATIVE CIRCLED DIGITS (U+2776 onwards, Unicode 1.1) and ⓿ is NEGATIVE CIRCLED DIGIT ZERO (U+24FF, added later in Unicode 4.0). The generator uses all of them, so numbers in a name stay bubbled too.

① ② ③ ④ ⑤ ⑥ ⑦ ⑧ ⑨ ⓪   ❶ ❷ ❸ ❹ ❺ ❻ ❼ ❽ ❾ ⓿

Which bubble letters turn into emoji on iPhone

Five letters do double duty as emoji: 🅰 🅱 🅾 🅿 (blood types A, B, O and the parking sign) and Ⓜ (the metro sign). When they are followed by the invisible VARIATION SELECTOR-16, iPhone and Android draw them as coloured emoji; without it most apps show them as plain text. If a black-square word suddenly shows a red A or B, that is the reason, not a broken character.

Where bubble text shows up and where it breaks

Bubble letters are plain Unicode text, so they paste into any field that accepts text. What we can say without guessing:

Place White bubbles Black bubbles and squares Why
Instagram, TikTok, Discord bios and captions Accepted Accepted Free-text fields take any Unicode text
Instagram and TikTok @username Rejected Rejected Only letters, numbers, full stops and underscores are allowed
Older phones and PCs Usually fine (Unicode 1.1) May show empty boxes (Unicode 6.0) A device needs a font that has the character
Game name fields Varies by game Varies by game Many games filter characters outside their own font
Bubble text in an Instagram or Discord bio on a phone
Bubble text is plain text, so it pastes into bios and captions like any other text.

Empty boxes mean the viewer’s device has no drawing for that character. The text is still correct; it simply shows up on newer devices.

Bubble text and screen readers

Screen readers read each bubble letter by its Unicode name, so Ⓗⓘ can be read out as “circled latin capital letter H, circled latin small letter i”. Use bubble text for a word or two of decoration, and keep important information, such as a shop name or a link, in normal letters.

Bubble text generator FAQ

How do I make bubble letters to copy and paste?+

Type your text in the box at the top of this page. The bubble text generator swaps every letter for its circled Unicode character, such as Ⓑ for B, and you tap Copy on the style you want, then paste it like normal text.

Why do black bubble letters have no lowercase?+

Unicode only defines black (negative) circled letters as capitals, from 🅐 U+1F150 to 🅩 U+1F169. The generator therefore turns lowercase into the same capital letters in the black bubble and square styles.

Why do some bubble letters turn into red emoji?+

🅰 🅱 🅾 🅿 and Ⓜ are also emoji (blood types A, B and O, parking and the metro sign). Phones may draw them in colour, especially when an invisible VARIATION SELECTOR-16 follows them. The other letters stay as plain text.

Can I use bubble text in my Instagram or TikTok name?+

Use it in your display name, bio and captions. TikTok and Instagram @usernames only accept plain letters, numbers, full stops and underscores, so circled letters are rejected there.
