Upside Down Text Generator – ʇxǝʇ uʍop ǝpısdn
An upside down text generator flips your words into turned-over look-alike letters, such as ʇxǝʇ uʍop ǝpısdn, and reverses their order so they read correctly when the screen is turned around. The result is plain Unicode text you can copy and paste into a bio, a comment or a message.

How to use the upside down text generator
- Type your text in the box.
- Copy the upside-down version, or the reversed-only version.
- Paste it anywhere that accepts text.
For other small letter styles, the small text generator works the same way.
The full flip map, with code points
Upside-down letters are borrowed from IPA Extensions, the Lisu script, Letterlike Symbols and other blocks, because Unicode has no “upside-down alphabet”. The table shows the character each letter becomes:

Letters with no upside-down form
These characters look the same turned over and are kept: l o s x z H I N O S X Z 0 8. Digits such as 2, 4 and 7 have no turned version in Unicode, so the generator uses look-alikes from Korean Hangul (ᄅ, ㄥ) and Bopomofo (ㄣ); on a phone without those fonts they may show as boxes.
Upside down vs mirror text
Mirror or reversed text keeps your own letters and only reverses their order: txet. Upside-down text also swaps every letter: ʇxǝʇ. Neither is a font, both are plain text.

Upside-down face emoji 🙃
🙃 is UPSIDE-DOWN FACE (U+1F643), a colour emoji added in Unicode 8.0; it is often paired with flipped text.
Kaomoji with flipped features
These faces use ˙ DOT ABOVE (U+02D9) as raised eyes, the way a turned-over face would look.
Single flipped letters
Screen readers read each flipped letter by its Unicode name, so upside-down text is not accessible; use it for fun, not for important information.

Upside down text FAQ
How does upside down text work?+
Each letter is swapped for a Unicode character that looks like it turned over, such as ɐ for a and ʇ for t, and the order is reversed so the word reads correctly when you turn the screen around.
Why do some letters stay the same?+
Letters such as l, o, s, x, z, H, I, N look the same upside down, so they are left as they are. Others have no true upside-down character and use a look-alike from another script.
Is upside down text the same as mirror text?+
No. Mirror text only reverses the order of the letters; upside-down text also swaps every letter for a turned-over look-alike.
