Serif Font Generator โ€“ Copy and Paste ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐Ÿ Text

A serif font generator turns your text into Unicode serif letters, such as bold ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐Ÿ, italic ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘“ and bold italic ๐‘บ๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’‡, that keep their classic look when you copy and paste them into Instagram, X, LinkedIn or Discord. Type below and tap Copy; no font is installed.

How to use the serif font generator

  1. Type or paste your text into the box.
  2. Choose bold serif, italic serif or bold italic serif, or one of the decorative serif-style sets below them.
  3. Tap Copy and paste the text where you need it.

Serif is one of several Unicode letter sets; when you need letters that are smaller rather than serifed, the small text generator works the same way.

The serif sets: bold, italic and bold italic

Unicode has three serif alphabets that copy and paste: bold from ๐€ U+1D400, italic from ๐ด U+1D434 and bold italic from ๐‘จ U+1D468, all in the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block added in Unicode 3.1. Only bold has its own digits (๐ŸŽ to ๐Ÿ—).

Style Example Code points (Aโ€“z) Digits Holes
Bold serif ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” U+1D400 โ€“ U+1D433 ๐ŸŽ U+1D7CE โ€“ ๐Ÿ— U+1D7D7 None
Italic serif ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘“ U+1D434 โ€“ U+1D467 Normal digits h (filled with โ„Ž U+210E)
Bold italic serif ๐‘บ๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’‡ U+1D468 โ€“ U+1D49B Normal digits None

Why the italic h is the Planck constant โ„Ž

The italic small h has no character in the maths block: code point U+1D455 is reserved, because โ„Ž PLANCK CONSTANT (U+210E) was already in Unicode 1.1. A generator that ignores this gives you a broken or missing h. This one uses โ„Ž, which is why a word like ๐‘โ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘Ÿ can show the h in a slightly different weight on some phones: the font may draw โ„Ž from a different typeface.

In italic serif, the h comes from the Letterlike Symbols block.

Other letters Unicode encoded before the maths block

The same thing happens in other styles, which the generator also fills: script borrows โ„ฌ โ„ฐ โ„ฑ โ„‹ โ„ โ„’ โ„ณ โ„› โ„ฏ โ„Š โ„ด, fraktur borrows โ„ญ โ„Œ โ„‘ โ„œ โ„จ, and double-struck borrows โ„‚ โ„ โ„• โ„™ โ„š โ„ โ„ค. All of them sit in the Letterlike Symbols block (U+2100 โ€“ U+214F).

Serif and math letters Unicode encoded early in Letterlike Symbols, such as โ„Ž โ„ฌ โ„ญ โ„ โ„• โ„
Letters such as โ„Ž โ„ฌ โ„ญ โ„ โ„• โ„ predate the maths alphabets.

Where serif text shows up and where it breaks

Place Serif text Why
Instagram, X, LinkedIn and Discord posts, bios and captions Accepted Free-text fields take any Unicode text
Instagram and TikTok @username Rejected Only letters, numbers, full stops and underscores
Phones and apps with basic fonts May show empty boxes, or a mismatched โ„Ž The font needs the Unicode 3.1 maths letters
Search boxes and hashtags Often treated as different words Many systems normalise or do not match these letters

Serif text and screen readers

Screen readers announce each serif letter by its Unicode name, for example “mathematical bold capital S”, so a whole sentence in serif bold becomes hard to follow. Use it for a name or a short heading line, and keep the rest in plain text.

Serif font generator FAQ

What is a serif font generator?+

It converts your letters into Unicode serif characters, such as bold serif ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐Ÿ, italic ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘“ or bold italic ๐‘บ๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’‡, so the serif look stays when you paste the text into apps without a font menu.

Why does the italic h look different from the other letters?+

Unicode left a hole at the italic small h (U+1D455) because the Planck constant sign โ„Ž (U+210E) already existed. The generator uses โ„Ž, which some fonts draw slightly differently from the surrounding italic letters.

Is there a regular (non-bold) serif set?+

Plain serif text is just ordinary letters, so Unicode has no separate regular serif alphabet. Whether normal letters show with serifs depends on the font of the app, not on the characters.

Why does serif text show as boxes on some phones?+

The serif styles come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block (Unicode 3.1). A phone or app whose fonts do not include those characters shows empty boxes; the copied text is still correct.
